National Bike to Work Day - May 20, 2...Description
A message on behalf of the Village of Libertyville Bicycle Advisory Commission.
On April 26, 2022, Mayor Donna Johnson signed a proclamation to proclaim May 2022 as National Bike Month in the Village of Libertyville. The Bicycle Advisory Commission encourages local employers to identify ways to promote healthy habits amongst their workforce, including taking part in activities associated with the upcoming Bike to Work Week and Bike to Work Day. Employers may even consider following the lead of employers such as Advocate Condell Medical Center and Centre Club which offer incentives to participating team members. Visit www.bikelibertyville.com for links to the Village’s bicycle map, bicycle repair stations, and bicycle safety information.
National Bike Month is a celebration of cycling held every May in the United States. It is sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast-to-coast. The League of American Bicyclists has designated Bike to Work Week will take place May 16-22, 2022 and Bike to Work Day is on May 20, 2022. During the month of May, the Village of Libertyville encourages the increased use of the bicycle, benefiting all citizens by improving air quality, reducing traffic congestion & noise, decreasing the use of and dependence upon finite energy sources, and fostering exercise.
